70 plant producers now Plant Pass registered

A total of 70 plant producers registered with Plant Pass, including some of the biggest plant production operators in Aotearoa. 13 producers are now fully certified. We look forward in 2023 to supporting all registered producers on their journey to certification.

Nearly 200 people took part in Plant Pass workshops in 2022 from more than 100 entities, of which 95% were producer nurseries, with councils and others making up the balance. The workshops introduced participants to Plant Pass and the biosecurity good practice steps needed to get certified.

We will now build on this awareness to encourage other producers to join the Plant Pass scheme in 2023 and help protect Aotearoa from pests and pathogens that can damage nurseries, customers and our environment, economy and culture.

We applaud the plant producers that are already fully Plant Pass certified or registered. Check out the list of Plant Pass producers before you procure plants for your next project, as they are the biosecurity exemplars of New Zealand.
